28 July 2022: Siva for Friendship Treaty Aotearoa New Zealand and Samoa. Sieuli Talaimanu Keiller remarks: A Samoan group of Matais (Leaders) Were behind the Treaty, Samoa is Lead by four Paramount Chiefs, One leads American Samoa as a territory to USA similar to the Hong Kong lease to the UK, three Paramount Chiefs take turns as head of the Independent State of (Western) Samoa. Alii Brett Keiller remarks: Samoan warriors wear tatoos not necessarily the Matai whom must interact and even marry without causing unease, unlike tatoos which are an indellable sign of allegiance, Flags of Germany and New Zealand flew over the Apia forshore but it would be dellusional to believe these transitional icons and shadings on world maps held little influence locally in practise. Samoans hearts were touched from a perspective of respect and care after the troubles and conflicts of the past instead by good relationships with Kiwis, which is why the Leaders cemented an enduring and warm friendship between Samoa and Aoteaoa New Zealand in this treaty. www.beehive.govt.nz
